I have been wanting to write this post for a long time, but MAN has life been crazy! Many of you know that I am a wife & a mom. But what many of you might not know is exactly what I do for a living… I work full time as a Regional Account Manager for our local NBC station. I love what I do, which is a good thing since I find myself there M-F 8am – 5pm!
Don’t Stop, Get It, Get It! I am a busy body. Bottom line, I don’t sit still well. This is a blessing & a curse. I get a ton of work accomplished in a week, but I also have to remind myself to slow down & enjoy the little moments! Absolutely nothing you want comes easy, so hard work & dedication is key & that is something I believe whole heartedly in!
If you know me, you know I am borderline OCD and like a schedule. Blogging takes an immense amount of organization, which is something you don’t often see in the pretty little instagram feed. While some of my content is more spur of the moment, some of my content is planned out weeks in advance. For instance, if I have a brand collaboration, or a big event coming up (hello christmas) the planning and preparation is super important! Looks are sometimes shot weeks in advance & I just cross my fingers hoping items don’t sell out before I get to share it with you all!
My day starts out with me checking emails & comments, responding to any questions that y’all might have from a previous looks or post! After getting myself & Jackson ready, I leave the house around 7:30 & from then until 5pm my focus is on my full time job. I put 100% effort into everything I do, so it is really important to me that the blog does not interfere with my full time job. I see both as a separate “job” & do my best to separate the two. At 5pm I head home, cook dinner for the family & give Jackson a bath. I typically post my nightly content around 7:30pm, right before Jackson goes to bed. This allows me to put him down & be active on social media shortly after the post goes live. The next few hours before I go to bed, I spend organizing my content for the next day while spending some time catching up on shows with the hubby! Multitasking is key my friends!=
Over the past year, the biggest lesson i’ve learned is don’t over think it! When I first started blogging, I found myself questioning every move, every photo, every post. Especially the actual blog posts! We are taught in school how to write in a more formal manner, in a way that almost does not sound like ourselves. Blogging is the opposite. There are no rules, no right or wrong ways, no grading on your content! You are free to write however you’d like because your blog after all, is about YOU! Once I was able to realize that my blog posts were not formal essays, I was able to put out triple the content! I love showing my personality through my writing & that no doubt, makes the content more fun & easier to write!
But honestly at the end of the day, I keep going because of all YOU. If you are reading this post, I cannot thank you enough for your support! It means more than I could ever put into words & I look forward to growing with you all! Please don’t ever hesitate to reach out with questions or comments!
