As you may have seen, I turned 28 a few days ago. However the birthday I was most looking forward to all month, is the ONE YEAR birthday to my blog, Simply Stewart! My dreams came to fruition on September 4th 2017 thanks to my wonderful friends & amazing website designers at MModern. I would also like to give a shout out to my husband Chase, because without his continued encouragement & support, Simply Stewart would not be here today.
2017 was a big year for us – I left a job I had been at for three years to begin an entirely new full-time career. I suffered through a terrible pregnancy, gave birth to our beautiful boy Jackson and learned a new way of life called “motherhood” — all while attempting to start a blogging business. I’ve made a thousand and one mistakes on this crazy journey but learned a thousand and one new lessons along the way. What I can say with 100% confidence, is that bloggers are HUSTLERS! The blogging world is full of entrepreneurs chasing & creating their dreams. Those that work 40, 50, 60, 70 hours a week. Women who day in and day out strive to make connections with both the community & individual brands. There is so much more to creating a blog than many may think. Bloggers are creating a personal platform & a personal business. In fact those that do this successfully spend a majority of their days behind the computer – writing and planning content, reviewing contracts, managing expenses, etc. etc.
When I created this blog, I did so with the intention of sharing my honest & real-life experiences with you. I made a promise to grow my blog authentically & honestly. To never pay for followers or likes. To always genuinely respond back on your post comments & questions. To all in all, connect & engage with my following. To this day I am happy to say I have achieved all of that in my first year of blogging. I’d be lying if I said there haven’t been days I considered quitting. But quitting wont get me, or anyone closer to reaching the goal. In fact, I have more regrets about not starting this journey sooner than I did! So engagement is important to me, because truth be told I could not continue this platform without the feedback, following & overall support that you all give me!
So with that being said, here’s to many more blog posts, fashion finds, mom fails & mom wins! I sincerely thank those of you that follow along with me on this crazy journey. It truly means the world to me & I cannot thank you enough.
Happy Birthday Simply Stewart!
